Sound familiar?

What we hear from small businesses and startups

  • Everyone set up their own laptop, and company files live in personal accounts.
  • We’re hiring fast, and every new person loses their first day to setup.
  • A bigger customer sent a security questionnaire before they’ll sign.
  • Someone left, and we’re not sure what they can still get into.
  • We can’t justify a full-time IT hire, but the founders keep losing hours to IT.
  • The Wi-Fi in our new space is unreliable, and video calls keep dropping.

What we handle

How we help small businesses and startups

Set up right from day one

Company-owned email and file accounts, laptops set up and managed, and multi-factor sign-in on everything, so the business owns its data, not individual people.

IT Support →

New hires ready on their first day

A simple checklist for joiners and leavers: laptop, accounts and access ready on day one, and everything shut off the day someone leaves.

IT Support →

Security customers and investors ask about

Device protection, email security and access controls, plus help answering security questionnaires so they don’t hold up a deal.

Cybersecurity →

A plan that grows with you

Advice before you buy, a roadmap as you hire, and help with office moves, coworking setups and Wi-Fi when you need it.

New York rules

The rules we help you meet

Any business holding New Yorkers’ personal information

NY SHIELD Act

Requires reasonable safeguards for personal information like ID numbers, account numbers and logins. Small businesses can scale safeguards to their size.

How we help: Multi-factor sign-in, access controls, encryption, backups, monitoring, staff training and secure device disposal.

Any business holding New Yorkers’ personal information

NY breach notification law

If personal information is exposed, affected New Yorkers must be notified within 30 days, along with state agencies.

How we help: An incident response plan, and records that show what was accessed so you can act quickly.

Every employer

NY Labor Law 203-d

Employee Social Security numbers can’t sit in files anyone can open, appear on badges or be posted publicly.

How we help: Locking down HR and payroll folders, with regular checks on who has access.

We help you meet the technology side of these rules. We don’t give legal advice, and some rules apply only above certain sizes or to certain licenses, so confirm your obligations with your attorney or compliance advisor.

A typical setup

What it looks like in practice

Picture an 8-person startup in a Brooklyn coworking space. Everyone brought their own laptop, files sit in a mix of personal and company accounts, and the team is hiring every month.

We’d move everything into company-owned accounts, turn on multi-factor sign-in, set up and protect every laptop, add a shared password manager, back up your email and files, and write a simple joiner and leaver checklist. Then we keep it running, so the founders can get back to the business.

What to expect working with us

  • On-site visits within 1–2 business days when the job needs hands-on work, across NYC, Yonkers and Westchester.
  • Month to month. No long-term contract.
  • A written plan and quote before any purchase or project.
  • A written proposal within 2 business days of your call, and fully onboarded in about 30 days, often sooner.

Our plans cover business hours. Work outside those hours is available and billed hourly.

“Our internet hadn’t worked consistently for years. I called them on a Sunday morning and by 4 pm that day they had totally revamped our system and it works perfectly.”

FAQ

Questions from small businesses and startups

We’re only a few people. Is managed IT worth it?

Often, yes. Plans are sized to your headcount and run month to month, and it usually costs far less than the hours founders lose to IT. We’ll tell you honestly on the first call if you don’t need us yet.

We’re fully remote or in a coworking space. Can you still help?

Yes. Most of the work happens remotely, and we come on-site across NYC, Yonkers and Westchester when the job needs hands.

A customer asked about our security, or about SOC 2. Can you help?

Yes. We put the technical safeguards in place and help you answer security questionnaires accurately. A SOC 2 audit itself is done by an independent auditor; we help with the technology side.

What happens as we grow?

Your plan grows with your team. We add people, devices and services as you hire, and review your setup with you as things change.
