Sound familiar?
What we hear from schools
- The Wi-Fi gives out when a whole class logs in at once.
- Some classrooms barely get a signal.
- The network closet is a tangle nobody fully understands.
- Devices need replacing, and summer is the only time to do it.
- Approvals take time, so you need clear quotes well ahead.
- Student data has to stay private, and you need to show how.
What we handle
How we help schools
Classroom Wi-Fi
A walk-through of every room, then access points placed so a full class can connect at once.
Networking & Wi-Fi →School networks
Switches, cabling and firewalls, with separate networks for staff, students, guests and devices.
Networking & Wi-Fi →Break and summer projects
Device refreshes, network upgrades and cabling scheduled for breaks, so teaching isn’t interrupted.
IT Consulting →Student data protected
Access controls, encryption and secure accounts for staff and student records.
Cybersecurity →New York rules
The rules we help you meet
NY Education Law 2-d
Requires protecting student data in line with the NIST cybersecurity framework, using safeguards such as encryption, firewalls and strong passwords.
How we help: Network security, encryption and access controls, with your setup documented against the NIST framework.
FERPA
Requires keeping student education records private.
How we help: Access controls on student records and the shared drives that hold them.
NY SHIELD Act
Requires reasonable safeguards for personal information like ID numbers, account numbers and logins. Small businesses can scale safeguards to their size.
How we help: Multi-factor sign-in, access controls, encryption, backups, monitoring, staff training and secure device disposal.
NY Labor Law 203-d
Employee Social Security numbers can’t sit in files anyone can open, appear on badges or be posted publicly.
How we help: Locking down HR and payroll folders, with regular checks on who has access.
We help you meet the technology side of these rules. We don’t give legal advice, and some rules apply only above certain sizes or to certain licenses, so confirm your obligations with your attorney or compliance advisor.
A typical setup
What it looks like in practice
Picture a 30-classroom school planning a summer Wi-Fi upgrade.
We’d survey every room in the spring, send a written plan and itemized quote in time for approval, order equipment early, install in July and test with full-class loads before September. After that, we can monitor and support it through the year.
We’ve completed network and IT projects for New York schools, so we know how the school year shapes the work.
What to expect working with us

- A written plan and quote before any purchase or project.

Our plans cover business hours. Work outside those hours is available and billed hourly.
FAQ
Questions from schools
Can the work happen over summer or school breaks?
Yes. We plan projects around your calendar and schedule installs for breaks or after hours.
Can you give us a quote for board or committee approval?
Yes. You get a written plan and an itemized quote before anything is ordered.
Do you only do projects, or ongoing support too?
Both. Many schools start with a Wi-Fi or network project and keep us on to monitor and support it.
Does Education Law 2-d apply to our school?
It covers school districts, charter schools, pre-K providers and BOCES. Independent schools should check with their counsel. Either way, we help you protect student data properly.
